Welcome to St. Mark's!
We're Glad You Are Here!

Whether you are joining us for the very first time or returning, you may have questions about St. Mark's. We are a neighborhood church located on the east side of Iowa City. Traditional worship services are held every Sunday morning at 9:30 am, with Communion for all the first Sunday of each month. Join us in person or online! Jeans and t-shirts to sport coats and dresses - come as you are! All are welcome at St. Mark's!

Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.
  • What is it like? St. Mark's is traditional but relaxed.

  • Where do I park? Ample parking is available behind the church.

  • How are visitors welcomed? Visitors are welcomed by the pastor and a volunteer greeter as you enter the main doors of the church. Feel free to ask questions and share what you are comfortable sharing.

  • Where do I sit? You are welcome to sit wherever you are comfortable. There are no assigned or reserved seats in our congregation.

  • A bulletin, or program, is provided as friends enter the sanctuary to follow along with the order of the hour long service.

  • What about my kids? Children of all ages are invited to worship services. The pastor will share a special children's message durinf worship by inviting our young disciples to the front of the church. They are then welcome to spend time in a classroom with activities just for them.

  • How can I get connected? St. Mark's provides a coffee/fellowship time immediately following church services. All are welcome to visit with our church family.

  • There are a number of activities throughout the week that anyone can participate in. Check the events page of the website, and the weekly worship bulletin. The Pastor, church staff and members can share opportunities and point you in the right direction.

  • Our very own 'hand dancer extraordinaire" Lou provides the service for our deaf community with American Sign Language. She also teaches a class two nights a week for all of us to learn ASL.
